What is the Living Neural Map?

The Living Neural Map is Lumina's visible memory: a map of what it has learned from your conversations that grows over time, with time-travel snapshots you can explore.

What is the Living Neural Map?

The Living Neural Map is the visible memory of Lumina AI Companion. It shows what Lumina has learned from your conversations as a web of connected concepts, lets those connections strengthen as topics come up together, and keeps time-travel snapshots so you can see how that memory looked weeks or months ago.

What does the Living Neural Map show?

The map is a knowledge graph of what Lumina has learned about you, organized the way your life is organized. Concepts appear as nodes: your projects, the people in your life, the goals you are working toward, and the small preferences you mention in passing. Lines connect the concepts that relate to each other.

So a new fitness goal might sit near your morning routine and your sleep schedule, because those things connect in real life. A work project sits near the colleagues involved and the deadlines attached to it. It looks like what it is: a picture of what Lumina knows, drawn in a way you can explore.

How does it grow through shared experience?

The map is living because it changes as your relationship does. Every conversation adds to the same continuous history. As you keep talking, related concepts get linked, and the links grow stronger the more those topics come up together.

You never have to maintain it. There is nothing to tag, file, or organize. You just talk, and the map takes shape around the conversation, becoming a richer picture of your shared history over weeks and months.

What are time-travel snapshots?

Lumina saves the state of your map at points along the way, and time-travel snapshots let you open an earlier version to see exactly how it looked a month ago or six months ago.

People use snapshots the way they use old journals. They notice how much has changed, revisit a goal they set and let drift, or spot a connection between two ideas that only makes sense in hindsight. Snapshots turn memory from a utility into a visible record of how you and your companion have grown.

Why does seeing memory build trust?

Most AI memory is invisible: it may be working, but you cannot see what was kept. That makes it hard to trust, and hard to notice when something is wrong.

The Living Neural Map makes Lumina's memory visible and explorable. When Lumina brings up something you said weeks ago, you can open the map and find the concept it came from. Being able to see what a companion remembers, and how that memory has changed, turns continuity into something you can check rather than something you have to take on faith.

Is the Living Neural Map private?

Lumina's memory is user-scoped. What it learns about you belongs to your relationship with it, and your map is never mixed with anyone else's. The memories hub works alongside the map with a narrative view of the same history, and both are there for you to explore whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need technical knowledge to use the Living Neural Map?

No. You do not need to understand knowledge graphs to read your map. It shows the things Lumina has learned about you, like your projects, goals, and the people you mention, and you can explore it with a tap.

Can I see how Lumina's memory changed over time?

Yes. Time-travel snapshots save the state of your Living Neural Map at points along the way, so you can open an older snapshot and see what your map looked like a month or six months ago.

Is the Living Neural Map shared with other users?

No. Lumina's memory is user-scoped, so your map reflects your relationship with Lumina alone and is never mixed with anyone else's.
